1960 Chevrolet Impala 348 ci Convertible No reserve

1960 Chevrolet Impala 348 ci Convertible No reserve - Full restoration in 2001, nice condition - Rare version equipped with the 280 hp 5.7-liter V8 - Stunning color combination - No reserve With the Chevrolet Impala closely tied to Thierry Dehaeck's childhood memories—his father having purchased a coupé in 1960—it was one of the very first cars he acquired for his personal collection, starting in 1987 with the red Impala. However, when he discovered this particular example in 2011 at Merit Cars near New York, he couldn't resist adding it to his collection as well. Indeed, this is a particularly desirable specification, powered by the 348 ci (5.7-liter) V8 producing 280 hp, compared to the 185 hp of the 4.6-liter version. Furthermore, it is finished in an original and highly attractive color scheme of "Crocus Cream" over a "Cascade Green" interior. This top-of-the-line model came generously equipped with power steering, power brakes, electric soft top, dual rear-wing antennas, tinted glass, and special wheel covers. As documented by a series of photographs, this Impala convertible underwent a complete restoration in 2001 while in the ownership of a certain James Marino from Flushing, New York, totaling $40,000. It covered just 5,600 km following the restoration before its purchase by Thierry Dehaeck. With its FIVA identity card, it has participated in various rallies and concours d'elegance. Its distinctive rear "seagull wings" make this Impala instantly recognizable and emblematic of 1960s American opulence. Offered with a period brochure, it will immerse its new owner in the carefree atmosphere of American Graffiti while delivering the strong acceleration of its massive V8 engine.
