1971 Citroën SM

1971 Citroën SM - Exceptional original condition, never restored or repainted - Original upholstery and mechanicals - In the same family from new until 2016 - No reserve 1971 Citroën SM For Thierry Dehaeck, the Citroën SM holds a special place, having been greatly impressed in his youth by one belonging to a friend of his parents who had taken him for a ride. He was therefore particularly delighted to find this example, extremely well preserved in its original condition, never restored, with its original paintwork still gleaming and its upholstery showing a nice patina. This SM was ordered new on 10 February 1971 by Mr. Roger Noury, from Vincennes, trading in his 1963 DS 19. Finished in "Gris Nacré" (Pearl Grey) with natural leather upholstery and optional car radio, it left the assembly line on 6 April 1971, then invoiced on 9 April for 53,612 francs. It was through Palace Garage in Lyon that Thierry Dehaeck acquired it on 23 May 2017, but the registration document used for the transaction was in the name of Jean-Pierre Noury, Roger's son, residing in Nogent-sur-Marne (registration 2615 Z 94), suggesting that the car had never left the Noury family. The mileage stood at 75,022 km and, since its purchase, it has taken part in various events including "Chantilly Arts & Élégance" in 2024. It also won 1st prize at the Knokke Le Zoute Concours in the "Preservation" class and 1st prize at the Chantilly Concours for cars in original condition in 2024, attesting to the high quality of this SM. Several documents confirm the history of this car: order form and confirmation letter from the Citroën dealership from February 1971, purchase invoice from April 1971, maintenance invoices from 1972 to 2016, period SM brochure, manual for the Continental Edison R437 car radio, stamped service book, owner's manual in its leather pouch, list of Citroën agents in France and Europe, FIVA identity card, spare set of keys. This SM is distinguished by its exceptional original condition (confirmed by the "AA" rating awarded by the German specialists FSP), by its ownership within the same family for almost its entire existence, and by a remarkably documented history. This is an extremely rare situation that enthusiasts will appreciate.
