In 2015, a retrospective of Calvo de Araujo’s work was held at the British Cultural Center in Lima, curated by Christian Bendayán. His best-known book is Paiche, described by himself in its prologue as a socialist novel, written in a mixture of formal Spanish and Amazonian dialectal Spanish.
