This striking work reinterprets the iconic image of the Virgin Mary through the prism of Kintsugi, the ancient Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with gold. The figure, conceived as a mosaic of intricate fragments in black and ivory tones, celebrates the beauty of imperfection and resilience; every visible crack is transformed into a vein of pure gold that unites the pieces, symbolizing a story of overcoming and spiritual maturation. The central piece, the radiant heart that emits its own light from the center of the composition and which the Virgin holds reverently, becomes not only a Sacred Heart, but the very manifestation of healing and the radiant beauty that arises after repair, a powerful visual metaphor of faith that binds the broken to create an even more precious work of art.
