Working tool - Antique Flax Comb, 1821

The offered item is a large, fine antique flax comb, also known as a vlaskam, dated 1821 with the letters IHG. It is antique tooling used in its time to comb and purify flax fibers, which were later spun to weave linen. The tool comes from a private collection of antique agricultural-craft tools. It was actually used by the seller’s grandparents and great-grandparents on the farm. The metal pins are mounted on a nicely worked oak wooden board. Given its age and at least a century of use, the flax comb is complete and in good condition. It is quite rare and could be a beautiful addition for a collector or as a decorative wall piece in a suitable setting. The dimensions are: height 60 cm, width 17.5 cm, depth 10 cm, with a weight of 3 kg. (Please see the various photos that are part of the description).
