Wooden figurine - Mangbetu - DR Congo (No reserve price)

Wooden figurine – Mangbetu – DR Congo This wooden figurine is attributed to the artistic tradition of the Mangbetu, a people established mainly in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Carefully carved, it bears witness to the skill of Mangbetu artisans and to the importance attached to the representation of the human figure in the traditional art of this region. The lines of the body, the proportions, and the woodwork give the whole piece a sober and expressive presence. By its sculptural character and the richness of its artisanal craftsmanship, this piece naturally finds its place in an African art collection or in a contemporary interior. It creates an elegant dialogue between the artistic heritage of the Mangbetu and a contemporary aesthetic, while constituting a collectible object valued for its decorative and ethnographic character.
