A characteristic and elegant Swiss gentlemen’s wristwatch from the historic brand Wega Watch Co. of Grenchen. This mechanical timepiece dates from the late 1950s or early 1960s and is in good working order. The reliable automatic movement winds itself with the motion of the wrist and keeps time properly. This quality watch is equipped with 25 jewels and an Incabloc shock protection for extra durability, is anti-magnetic and features a well-functioning date window at the three o’clock position. The watch case has a gold-colored front and is fitted on the back with a screwed stainless steel back plate bearing the reference number 24520. Although the back states waterproof, buyers should note that water resistance in vintage watches can no longer be guaranteed due to age. The stylish ivory-colored dial features gold-colored, arrow-shaped indices and Arabic numerals at six, nine and twelve o’clock, beautifully protected by an elegant domed plexiglass. The watch comes with a near-new, non-original black leather strap with a crocodile print and a silver-colored buckle, with a common lug width of 18 millimeters. This lot is in a beautiful, authentic vintage condition with a mild and characteristic patina on the dial. There are light, superficial signs of wear and scratches on the case and crown that are appropriate for the age of the piece.
