Wedgwood Great Wall of China Industrial Relief Mold

An industrial master mold or trial piece manufactured by Wedgwood. The rectangular off-white plaster or bisque ceramic block features a high-relief scene depicting the Great Wall of China with multiple watchtowers and winding stone pathways set against a hilly landscape with dense foliage. The word TRAY is impressed on the front face directly below the relief scene. A shallow shell-shaped indentation is present near the upper edge. The side of the block bears the impressed marks WEDGWOOD and LH. The reverse side features a circular silver sticker for the Rubin Collection.
