The work reflects the artist's intimate connection to the desert landscape, translating memory and movement across Country into a carefully structured composition. Fields of colour and rhythmic mark-making map the topography of Lungurung, suggesting water sources, sand- hills, and pathways shaped by ancestral activity. While the imagery is distilled, it carries a precise cultural meaning, grounded in the knowledge systems of the Western Desert. Weaver Jack, born circa 1928, lived a largely traditional life before painting later in life, bringing a depth of lived experience and cultural authority to his practice. His works are recognised for their clarity and restraint, conveying both the physical and spiritual dimensions of Country. © WEAVER JACK / Copyright Agency, 2026
