Asiru Olatunde (1918–1993) – Figures Around a Tree of Life – Signed Metal Relief An expressive repoussé relief by Nigerian artist Asiru Olatunde, featuring six stylised figures arranged around a central tree with spreading branches and decorative leaves. The composition can be interpreted as a Tree of Life, a recurring motif in the artist’s work. The figures display distinctive profile faces, prominent eyes and richly patterned garments. The finely punched background contrasts with the raised, smoother surfaces, creating a lively interplay of texture, light and reflection. Presented in a wooden frame. Signed and inscribed along the lower edge: “ASIRU OLATUNDE OSOGBO” About the artist Asiru Olatunde was a Nigerian artist and trained blacksmith associated with the Osogbo artistic community.
