VOLTA - XXL “The Storks’ Meadow”

The meadow rises almost to the sky and fills the entire canvas, while the horizon stays high, compressed by a band of dark trees and clouds laid on thickly. The green changes temperature as it approaches: light and almost yellow in the distance, then ever deeper, broken by vertical brushstrokes that look like grass bending in the wind. Above, a rain of small blue and orange touches does not describe precise flowers but gives them their rhythm. In the center a stork stands still, others skim toward the back. The tradition of the flowering meadow as decorative surface, flat and all in the foreground, here opens into depth: you enter the field instead of looking at it, and the color remains in motion as in a day about to change.
