VOLTA - "Golden Hour"

The shore lights up in short, dense strokes: warm yellows, soft oranges, full reds, placed side by side without ever merging. White trunks, thin as threads, cut through the mass of foliage and lift it upward. Behind, the hill stretches out in a warm brown and the sky remains a band of clear blue that gives breath to everything else. At the bottom the water does not merely reflect: it repeats. It gathers the same colors and lays them out in long horizontal stripes, dotted with violet. The landscape doubles, and the second forest — the inverted one — is looser than the first: it is there that painting shows itself for what it is, matter and color in motion.
