Vitra - Charles Eames - Side table - Model A - Cherry wood - Vitra

Vitra Stool Model A — Cherrywood Original Stool Model A, designed by Charles & Ray Eames and produced by Vitra, executed in a warm walnut wood finish. The Stool is part of the characteristic small furniture pieces from the body of work of Charles & Ray Eames. Although the design was originally conceived as simple and functional, its sculptural form and refined material use give it a strong independent presence. Model A is distinguished by its compact, solid form and carefully rounded contours. The use of walnut emphasizes the natural character of the wood and gives the object a warm, understated appearance. The Eames Stool is versatile in use and can be applied as a stool, side table, or purely as a decorative design object. Precisely because of its modest size and clear form, it lends itself easily to combining with other iconic pieces of furniture. What makes this specimen interesting is the combination of a timeless Eames design with the rich appearance of walnut. An object that can be approached both functionally and sculpturally.
