Vintage White Gold Cluster Ring with Natural Ruby & Diamonds, c. 1975

Over the centuries, jewellery has not been worn merely for adornment. Rather, it was also always a means of communication: partly immediately understandable, partly encoded, it conveyed messages often of a romantic nature. Gemstones in particular were used as carriers of meaning. The ruby, for example, was considered a symbol of passionate love in the language of gemstones. Diamonds, on the other hand, were understood as symbols of eternity due to their great hardness. A dark red, natural ruby in a facet cut is the protagonist of this ring. It is set in the center of the ring head and surrounded by fine white diamonds of mostly flawless quality. The settings are completely restrained, as the 14-carat white gold used here recedes behind the gemstones and presents them elegantly and unobtrusively. The classic cluster ring, which was created in the 1970s, is particularly suitable as an engagement ring or love gift for a special person due to its romantic symbolism. The fine jewel found its way to us from Nuremberg and is forged by hand. The unique ring is delivered with a detailed certificate from the German Society for Gemstone Appraisal Idar-Oberstein.
