Villeroy & Boch Mettlach – Art Nouveau vase No. 2435 – c. 1900 – Floral decoration Description: Elegant antique stoneware vase from the Villeroy & Boch manufactory at Mettlach, bearing under the base the manufacturer's mark as well as the model number 2435 and the mention Geschützt. The vase presents a plump shape with a constricted and undulating neck, characteristic of decorative productions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Very beautiful stylized floral decoration, composed of large light-colored flowers on a dark background, enhanced with blue, red and ochre details. The whole presents an aesthetic typical of the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period. The piece is old and shows signs of wear compatible with its age. Notably, there is a chip/loss visible on one side, well shown in the photographs. The interior also shows signs of use and deposit. Marking under the base: Villeroy & Boch – Mettlach – Geschützt – No. 2435.
