Velona - Excellent - No reserve price - 1459 - Men - 1965

Vintage Velona "excellent" men’s wristwatch from the period circa 1960–1965, produced in Switzerland at the request of the Dutch department store Vroom & Dreesmann. The watch features a gold-colored (gold-plated) case with a diameter of about 34 mm (excluding the crown) and a stainless steel back case with the original Velona logo. The silver-colored sunburst dial features applied gold indices and a central seconds hand. The watch is visually in good vintage condition with light, age-related signs of wear and is equipped with a black leather strap. The watch is powered by a high-quality Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement, type FHF Caliber 72 (Fabrique d'Horlogerie de Fontainemelon). This caliber is fitted with 17 jewels and an Incabloc shock protection. The authenticity of the movement is confirmed by the official FHF stamp (the shield with the letter 'H') stamped underneath the balance on the plate. Technically the watch is in good working order. The mechanism winds smoothly via the crown, starts running promptly after winding, and keeps accurate time with a good power reserve. This lot is a functional and technically original specimen, suitable for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage watches. Will be sent by registered and insured mail.
