Vase - Opaline glass - Peach Blow

Blown glass vase with a 'Peach Blow' or 'Cased Glass' effect Estimated age: 1950s–1960s Materials: Blown glass, opal glass Style: Mid-Century Modern / Organic design Origin: United States or Europe (typical style of Viking Glass or Empoli) Historical significance: This type of vase illustrates the popularity of gradient-colored glass and the elegant, slender shapes characteristic of mid-20th-century domestic design, aimed at bringing a modern and sculptural aesthetic to post-war interiors. Care tips: Clean only with warm water and mild detergent. Avoid dishwashers as heat and chemicals can dull the delicate finish. Use a soft brush to remove interior limescale deposits. Fun facts: The gradient effect is often achieved by the 'cased' glass technique (layering glass of different colors). Fun facts: This style is often called 'Swing Vase' or 'Elongated Vase' due to its stretched silhouette. Fun facts: The opalescent glass used at the base gives a characteristic bluish glow under certain lighting.
