Vase - Crystal - Hand-polished, 19th century

Magnificent 19th-century hand-cut crystal vase, probably English or Anglo-Irish. The vase is richly decorated with a strawberry-diamond pattern, deep geometric facets, and pronounced fan cuts along the upper rim. The heavy square foot is fully cut on the underside with a radial star/sunburst motif. The combination of form, cutting, and foot sits well within the English and Anglo-Irish tradition of 19th-century cut crystal. It may date from the first half of the 19th century. With a height of 41 cm and a weight of about 4.1 kg, this is a particularly impressive piece.
