Vase (2) - Porcelain, Iron - Roof tiles of Versatoi

Elegant pair of ornamental pourers, made in painted porcelain and enriched by rich raised metal mounts, characterized by a strongly decorative arrangement and a refined historicist taste. The two objects, conceived as pendants, feature an oblong/ovoid porcelain body, decorated with vivid decals portraying scenes of pastoral and courtly character: female and male figures in classical attire are depicted within verdant landscapes, under skies of blue, animated by clouds. The painting, in bright colors, creates a pleasant contrast with the elaborate metal mounts in iron. The upper part is particularly theatrical: the neck is enclosed by a finely worked mount, from which develops a large curved dripping/spout and, laterally, an element of volutes and foliate motifs that give the pair a marked Rococo character. Similar ornamental motifs appear at the bottom, where the porcelain is set into a rich metal framework with volutes, leaves, shell motifs, and undulating feet. The balance between the vivid decorative painting of the body and the precious metal structure is very successful, transforming these objects from simple containers into true furnishings and collectibles. The pair seems to be inspired by the taste of eighteenth-century European porcelain and French decorative mounts, probably reinterpreted at a later date. The presence of the mounts also gives the objects particular decorative importance and makes them suitable to be displayed on a console, a sideboard, or a display case. Good general condition.
