USA 1933 (Jun 3) a second attempt at the round the world flight by Jimmy Mattern bearing 8c and 'New York 3 6' c.d.s, this time via Norway, with 'Jomfruland 4 6 33' transit strike, then to Russia with 5k applied and '8 6 33' transit strike (one of several Russian postmarks). Again coming to grief in Siberia (this time getting lost), he eventually made it to Alaska where USA 3c was applied and tied 'Noma 21 7 33' and then Canada with 'Edmonton 27 7 33' c.d.s. Signed by Jimmy Mattern, and with only five covers carried, a very rare and important item of Russian and US aviation history.
