Lot of 50 new 2021 US$1 bills (half-bundle). Never circulated UNC. Printing facility: Dallas, Texas (K 11). Presence of sequences of bills having consecutive serial numbers (sequential numbers). In a perfectly new condition (no signs of handling nor machine marks). Crisp paper. (Taken out of the bundle). See photos, you are buying exactly what you see. Careful shipping with tracking number and insurance against loss and damage. The first $1 bills of the Federal Reserve were issued in 1963. The design, featuring George Washington on the obverse and the Great Seal on the reverse, has not changed. The first $1 bills (called United States Notes or “Legal Tenders”) were issued by the federal government in 1862 and featured a portrait of the Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase (1861-1864). The first use of the George Washington portrait on the $1 bill occurred on the 1869 series of American notes. The $1 bill is rarely counterfeit, so the government does not intend to redesign it. Furthermore, a recurring provision of Section 116 of the Annual Financial and Credit Services Act of the General Government prohibits redesigning the $1 bill.
