Tunisia 2021/2021 - I Love Djerba

The stamp of the French artist Invader for Djerba is a famous official philatelic issue issued by "La Poste Tunisienne" in 2021, aimed at celebrating the massive street art installation ("Invader") that the artist carried out on the Tunisian island in November 2019. Here are the main details about this issue: In November 2019, Invader "hit" the island of Djerba by installing dozens of ceramic pixel mosaics. Many of these works paid homage to the Star Wars saga, as the island hosted the original sets of the saga films. The postal project: Following the initiative's success, the Tunisian posts (Centre de la philatélie Tunisian Post) decided to dedicate a special 4-stamp series to the "Street Art in Tunisia", including Invader's work. Technical features of the stamp. Sales format: The stamp was distributed as an uncut full sheet containing 12 stamps. The full sheet measures about 13.5 x 23 cm. Limited edition: The entire philatelic issue related to Invader has an official print run of only 1000 sheets worldwide. Augmented Reality technology: A remarkable feature of this series is its technological integration. By framing the stamp with a smartphone app developed by the Tunisian posts, interactive digital content is unlocked that shows photos or additional information about the artist's installation on Djerba. (See the last attached photo) Collectibility: Because of the extremely low print run and Invader's global popularity, the "I love Djerba" stamp sheets quickly became a coveted item for both philatelists and urban-arts collectors, fetching significant sums on private markets and in international art auctions. The official smartphone app developed by the Tunisian posts for interactive stamps is "Tunisia Stamps". This app uses augmented reality (AR) technology to link the paper stamps to extra digital content.
