Maunder Watch Co are pleased to offer this Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner Ref. 7928, featuring a tropical brown dial. Introduced in 1959, the reference 7928 was the first Tudor Submariner to feature crown guards, marking an important development in the brand’s early diving watches. The reference was produced throughout the 1960s, with several variations in dial configuration and case design. This example features a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case, rotating ghosted dive bezel and a tropical dial that has developed a rich golden-brown patina. The dial is complemented by aged luminous hour markers, Mercedes-style hands and a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Powered by the automatic Tudor Calibre 390, the reference 7928 was originally rated to 200 meters of water resistance. Its combination of early Submariner design and distinctive tropical dial makes this a particularly interesting example of Tudor’s vintage sports watches.
