A beautiful and authentic titanium 2nd-stage fan blade (ventilatorblad) sourced from the legendary Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan engine. This type of engine formed the reliable backbone of commercial aviation for decades and powered iconic airliners such as the Boeing 727, the early Boeing 737-100/-200, and the McDonnell Douglas DC-9. Condition and Aviation Story: This specific unit is made from a high-grade and extremely strong titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) and possesses the characteristic aerodynamic twist. The blade was dismantled at Sabena Technics in Zaventem at the time. The component has officially been decommissioned and rejected for further aviation use (decommissioned / scrap). As a result, the blade shows unique, distinctive signs of wear and a brilliant patina from its hours of operation at high altitude. These light traces tell the true story of an object that traveled thousands of kilometers through the air.
