The Who - The Kids Are Alright (Japan) – 1979 2LP –...

A beautiful and fully complete 1979 Japanese pressing of The Who's The Kids Are Alright, issued by CBS/Sony under catalogue number 40AP 1630~1. This is the original Japanese double-LP edition, distinguished by its single-pocket sleeve construction rather than a gatefold format. What sets this pressing apart for collectors is the extensive and elaborate packaging that accompanies it—a hallmark of Japanese vinyl releases of this era. The Kids Are Alright serves as both the soundtrack to the famous documentary film and a superb overview of The Who's classic era, combining television performances, live recordings and key moments from across the band's career, featuring legendary performances of "My Generation," "I Can't Explain," "Magic Bus," "Baba O'Riley," "A Quick One," "Pinball Wizard," "See Me, Feel Me," "Join Together" and "Won't Get Fooled Again." This copy is exceptionally complete, arriving with all original components intact: the original OBI, both original printed inner sleeves, the original 4-page black-and-white Japanese insert, and the original large color booklet. The Japanese edition is particularly impressive because of this elaborate packaging ensemble. The booklet and inserts reproduce a wealth of photography, lyrics and information connected to the film and soundtrack, and complete copies are considerably more appealing than examples missing one or more of these loose components. ⸻ Sleeve (EX): The original sleeve is in excellent condition and presents very strongly, with only minimal signs of age and storage, grading EX. OBI: Original OBI present and in strong condition. Inners / Insert / Booklet: Both original printed inner sleeves included. Original 4-page black-and-white Japanese insert included. Original large color booklet included—all components present and well preserved. Disc 1 (NM): Superb Near Mint vinyl with a beautiful deep original gloss and virtually no evidence of previous play. Disc 2 (NM): Equally impressive, with exceptionally clean surfaces and only the slightest possible signs of handling, grading NM. ⸻ Details * Japan 1979 pressing * CBS/Sony 40AP 1630~1 * Original Japanese 2LP pressing * Single-pocket sleeve * Original OBI * Both original printed inner sleeves * 4-page Japanese insert * Large color booklet * Double album
