The Most Spectacular Shells in the Marine World Shell...

The Most Spectacular Shells in the Marine World — Among the most scenographic shells of the marine world, Chicoreus Ramosus embodies the meeting of beauty and function. Its imposing spires, adorned with jagged branching, resemble an ancient coral fortress, designed to defend the creature that dwells inside. This species, widely distributed in the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific, grows in shallow sandy environments, where its alabaster shell blends with the seabed, while the spines protect it from predators. A highly sculptural and decorative shell, its dominant color is an opaque white with delicate pinkish tones at the opening, which catch the light and reveal the full refinement of nature. The sturdiness of the shell, combined with its refined aesthetics, has made this shell a symbol appreciated in both scientific and decorative contexts. Chicoreus ramosus (Linnaeus, 1758) Common name: Múrice ramificado Family: Muricidae Order: Neogastropoda Class: Gastropoda Phylum: Mollusca Kingdom: Animalia
