The Hui brothers - Mr

A coordinated three-piece collection of Japanese theatrical publicity for the Hui brothers’ Mr. Boo! films, featuring colourful artwork by Hiro Ohta. The lot includes: • The Contract (1978), released in Japan as “Mr. BOO! Invader Operation”: one B2 theatrical poster, approximately 51.5 × 72.8 cm, from the 1979 Japanese campaign. • The Contract: one double-sided B5 chirashi, approximately 18.2 × 25.7 cm, featuring the matching artwork and advertising the Japanese release on 26 May. • The Private Eyes (1976): one double-sided B5 chirashi, approximately 18.2 × 25.7 cm, featuring the giant-shoe illustration and advertising the Japanese release on 3 February. Both films were directed by Michael Hui and feature Michael, Samuel and Ricky Hui. Both chirashi carry advertising panels for the Kichijōji Academy cinema. The B2 composition combines caricature portraits, flying saucers and comic machinery, making an eye-catching centrepiece alongside the two smaller publicity pieces. Condition: The B2 poster has two horizontal folds, small pinholes or mounting marks near the edges and corners, and handling marks and light soiling, particularly on the reverse. Colours remain strong. The two chirashi show light handling wear and retain their printed reverses. Please examine all photographs for the condition of each item. Three paper items are included. Unframed. Carefully packed for shipment, with the chirashi protected between rigid boards and the poster protected without creating additional folds. Tracked shipping.
