Ancient round table in walnut and walnut burl, richly carved and inlaid, with a striking presence. The top features a suggestive burl grain, enhanced by a central medallion and by a peripheral band with inlays in geometric and ornamental motifs. The shaped and carved edge frames the top, while the base consists of four turned and sculpted supports, connected by curvilinear elements that converge in a central decorative element. The feet are fitted with small wheels. The combination of woods, the contrast of the inlays, and the richness of the workmanship confer an elegant and representative character to the table. Period and documentation The table is accompanied by a guarantee card from the antique gallery International House in Brescia, dated February 5, 1984, which describes it as an English circular table of the nineteenth century, in carved and inlaid walnut, attributed to the Victorian period. The card also notes conservative restoration work. The photographed documentation is included in the lot. Condition The table presents generally good condition for its age, with patina, signs of use, scratches, cracks and small irregularities in the finish and decorations, as visible in the photographs. As it is an antique piece of furniture, repairs or interventions carried out over time cannot be ruled out. Please carefully examine all the photographs, which are an integral part of the description and document the details and the conservation state of the table. The staged image is an illustrative reconstruction; the chairs and the other furnishings depicted are not included in the lot. Provenance: private collection. Collection and transport Pickup by hand in Follina (TV) is required only; seller delivery service is not available. The buyer is requested to present themselves with an appropriate vehicle and suitable packing materials. Assistance with moving the table at pickup can be offered. The organization of pickup and any possible transport, with the related costs, is the buyer’s responsibility.
