Antique French mantel clock (marble pendulum) ​​Manufacturer / movement: Vincenti & Cie (marked on the movement with the official stamp “Médaille d'Argent 1855”) ​​Era: Second half of the 19th century (ca. 1855 – 1900) ​​Materials: Black marble with decorative elements and inlays of green marble. ​​Detailed description ​​This French mantel clock is a classic marble antique piece, distinguished by its robust and elegant architectural design (Napoleon III style). The round dial with gilded Roman numerals is protected by a glass with a brass frame and features a visible escapement (with visible jewels/movable components) in the upper area, a very striking horological detail. Moreover, the circular viewing window in the center reveals the pendulum, which bears the marking “R = A.” The movement carries the renowned stamp of the manufacturer Vincenti et Cie. ​​Technical and aesthetic condition ​​Functionality: The clock and the striking mechanism are functional. ​​Condition notes: ​​It shows a crack in the rear marble door. ​​The latch handle of the rear marble door is improvised. ​​There is a glued spot on the hammer of the striking mechanism. ​​Important: These small imperfections are purely aesthetic on the back and do not affect the function of the clock or the striking mechanism. ​​A charming collector’s piece, ideal for decorating a classic interior.
