This overprint was issued by Feng Yu Xiang (1882-1948) in 1930 during the Central Plains War on the 1928 series from the Bank of the Northwest. The overprint states that the note will be redeemed once 'the revolution is complete' and 'when the military incidents are stable'. Feng eventually lost to Chiang Kai Shek and was stripped of his military powers. The Bank folded at the same time. PCGS Banknote Grading Comments "Fire Damage". PCGS Grading incorrectly identifies this as S3888b. Estimate: $260 - $360. Provenance: From the Yang Ai Hao Collection. 民國十七年西北銀行中華民國陸海空軍副司令部伍圓。 河南地名。此加蓋為馮玉祥（1882-1948）於1930年中原大戰期間加蓋西北銀行1928年券之上。加蓋文字註明"革命成功"及"軍事安定"時兌現。馮玉祥最終敗於蔣介石並被解除軍權，該行亦隨之倒閉。PCGS Banknote Grading備註"火損"。PCGS Grading誤標為S3888b。 (t) This lot was manufactured in China (including Hong Kong), Russia or Republic of Belarus and was sourced from outside the United States for this auction after tariffs were enacted by the United States.
