Sweden 1936 - Hindenburg Second North America Flight...

Attractive Swedish cover addressed to New York, bearing the endorsement “Mit Luftschiff HINDENBURG nach Nord-Amerika – 2. Fahrt”, referring to the airship’s second North America flight of 1936. The front displays a striking red circular “Deutsche Luftpost / Europa–Nordamerika” cachet featuring a Zeppelin above the Atlantic—a particularly appealing feature for aviation and airship collectors. The two-colour Swedish franking comprises: - 15 öre red, from the 1936 Swedish postal service commemorative issue. - 10 öre blue airmail stamp depicting an aircraft over Stockholm. Both stamps are tied by distinctive “STOCKHOLM 1 / LUFTPOST” cancellations dated 15 May 1936. A blue “LUFTPOST / PAR AVION” label and handwritten “Trycksak” endorsement complete the presentation. An attractive combination of Swedish airmail markings, aviation-themed franking and a German Zeppelin cachet, with a contemporary endorsement for the Hindenburg’s second North America service. The lot comprises the single cover shown.
