Suzani fabric - Cotton, Silk - Central Asia - Early 20th century

Magnificent authentic Suzani fabric, dating from the early 20th century, made by the Turkic populations of Central Asia (historically from the southern CIS / ex USSR). The piece is realized on a cotton fabric base, enriched by an extraordinary dense hand embroidery in naturally dyed raw silk. It features the typical architectural/niche design (mihrab/embroidered style) framed by geometric and stylized floral motifs, with a vibrant color palette ranging from bright magenta to burgundy, black and green on an ivory background. The piece is accompanied by an original certificate of authenticity issued in December 1994 by an expert of the Milan Chamber of Commerce.
