Side table "Draagkracht" The side table is designed from one simple thought: nobody has to stand alone. The four separate legs together support one round top. Each leg has its own place, shape, and wood grain, but only when the parts meet do they form a sturdy and usable whole. In this way, the design stands as a symbol for what people can achieve when they are given the space, guidance, and the confidence to participate. The round shape has no beginning, no end, and no single most important position. Everyone takes an equal place within the same circle. The solid oak embodies growth and resilience: a natural material that needs time to become strong, and whose every grain tells its own story. Draagkracht is designed by Studio à la part and, under professional guidance, handmade by makers who are building their place within society and the labor market. The piece is not made out of pity, but out of talent, collaboration, and the belief that good craftsmanship can arise when people are given a fair chance to participate. The net proceeds of this auction will be used for new material. Thus every sold stool literally carries power to a next project and gives a new maker the opportunity to gain experience, confidence, and craftsmanship.
