Stelton - Erik Magnussen - Candlestick (23) - Steel

Eric Magnussen for Stelton – Rare Assortment of 23 Stainless Steel Objects – Denmark, 20th Century An exceptional and increasingly rare large collection of 23 original stainless steel design objects by Eric Magnussen for Stelton, Denmark. This refined ensemble represents the sculptural minimalism and functional purity that made Stelton a defining force in late 20th-century Scandinavian design. Executed in high-quality 18/8 stainless steel, the objects include bowls, candleholders, egg cups and serving elements in various sizes. The characteristic soft triangular organic geometry is unmistakably Magnussen — balanced, architectural and timeless. Design Significance Eric Magnussen is internationally recognised for redefining Danish industrial design through clarity of form and material honesty. His work for Stelton remains highly sought after by collectors due to: • Sculptural, almost biomorphic geometry • Pure stainless steel execution • Functional yet display-worthy presence • Strong coherence across object families The triangular, pebble-like forms seen here are among the most elegant expressions of Stelton’s modernist identity. Composition Assortment of 23 pieces including: • Bowls in multiple sizes • Egg cups • Candleholders • Serving elements Some pieces retain the Stelton stamp; others are consistent with period production. Condition Very good vintage condition. Light surface wear consistent with careful use. No structural damage. Beautiful soft patina enhancing the sculptural character of the steel. Collector’s Note Large coherent groupings of Magnussen stainless steel objects are increasingly difficult to source. Sets of this scale and variety offer both strong decorative impact and serious collector value. An elegant and museum-worthy ensemble of Danish modern design — equally suited for display, curated interiors, or expansion of a serious Stelton collection.
