SPIROU - Journal Collection, No. 79 - Lot 256

SPIROU - Journal Collection, No. 79 Dupuis, October 1960. Large quarto hardcover, red cloth spine, front cover illustrated in color. A highly sought-after vintage collection from *Le Journal Spirou*, corresponding to No. 79, compiling issues No. 1176 through 1185. The cover, emblematic of the great Franquin era, features Spirou, Fantasio, and the Count of Champignac aboard an all-terrain vehicle, set against the backdrop of a plot directly linked to Zorglub, a major figure of the golden age of the Marcinelle school. This volume is part of the series of the most popular collections from the early 1960s, a pivotal period for the magazine marked by the publication of episodes centered on Z as in Zorglub and the world of Champignac. A highly decorative copy, particularly sought after when it completes a continuous sequence of albums from 1959–1961.
