Sparkling “Trilogy” Ring with 0.78 ct Vintage Diamonds in Yellow Gold

“Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the passing on of the flame.” This quote is attributed to the symphonist Gustav Mahler (1860–1911). This statement is particularly apt for this modern ring, as its romantic symbolism follows a centuries-old tradition. The ring was created on our commission and is a beautiful example of the enduring legacy of a classic design that, at the same time, does not deny the era in which it was created. The understated, modern ring band, crafted from high-karat yellow gold, features three sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 0.78 carats, with a larger center stone flanked by two smaller brilliant-cut diamonds. All three diamonds are vintage diamonds from the 1980s. The center stone shines in the “White” (H) color grade, while the side stones have a slightly warm tint (I), which is very good for the warm yellow gold setting. The design concept for the ring draws on the tradition of trilogy rings, which are rich in symbolism: the number of gemstones in these pieces is meant to represent the shared past, present, and future. Diamonds, which according to legend are indestructible and thus eternally enduring gemstones, stand as a promise of eternity. Thanks to its shape, as well as its symbolic meaning, our ring can therefore be the perfect engagement ring or a gift of love.
