SOURGET — Illuminated Manuscripts and Rare Books SOURGET (Patrick and Élisabeth). Illuminated Manuscripts and Rare Books. A luxurious catalog from the Patrick and Élisabeth Sourget bookstore, dedicated to illuminated manuscripts, antique books, rare editions, and exquisite bindings. A substantial volume richly illustrated in color, featuring items of the highest bibliophilic quality: illuminated manuscripts and books, mosaic and heraldic bindings, illustrated books, works from the 16th–18th centuries, antique atlases, color prints, and more. The photographs notably feature a mosaic and watercolor-decorated binding by Padeloup the Younger, Paris 1743; heraldic bindings; an antique treatise on the use of weapons; and a spectacular antique atlas entirely decorated with watercolors. The photographs and descriptions are exceptionally well-crafted. These Sourget catalogs are of greater interest than mere sales catalogs: they are true works of bibliophilic documentation, particularly for identifying provenance, bindings, and remarkable copies. Hardcover with an illustrated dust jacket. Very good apparent condition; slight signs of wear on the dust jacket.
