SKE - Goldorak - Eternal Japan

Artist: SKE Title: Goldorak - Eternal Japan Printed on Hahnemühle art paper Edited by Atelier MONTMARTRE Format: ISO A2 Dimensions: 42 × 59.4 cm Limited edition of 10 copies Mixed media: digital painting (Procreate AI Photoshop) Each copy is signed and hand-numbered by the artist Certificate of authenticity included Sold unframed Artist Instagram: ske_shakeyourart There are heroes we do not look at: we recognize them before we even think about it. With Goldorak - Eternal Japan, SKE rekindles the cult icon of an entire generation in a dreamt-of Japan, suspended between memory, tradition, and pop culture. Goldorak rises at the heart of a landscape dominated by Mount Fuji, a vast red sun, cherry blossoms, petals carried by the wind, and a distant pagoda. The mechanical power of the robot contrasts with the delicacy of a Japanese print patinated by time. This reinterpretation makes two imaginaries dialogue with each other, as if made to meet: traditional Japanese aesthetics and one of the most iconic robots of 1970s animation. The print textures, the paper grain, the calligraphy and the graphic seals reinforce the sense of a rediscovered work, as if Goldorak had always belonged to this landscape. SKE does not treat the character here as a simple derivative product. He transforms it into an almost mythological figure: a silent, monumental guardian, between science fiction and Japanese legend. A way to summon childhood without being imprisoned by nostalgia. A2 landscape print on Hahnemühle art paper, edition of 10 copies, signed and hand-numbered by the artist, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Unframed artwork. A piece designed for those who grew up with Goldorak, but who today seek more than a memory image: a contemporary, graphic, collectible interpretation of a hero deeply rooted in collective memory. - FRAMING TIPS Your artwork is shipped rolled and protected in a tube. Upon receipt, remove it carefully and lay it flat for 48 to 72 hours so it naturally regains its shape before framing. ISO formats (A3, A2, A1, etc.) are very easy to frame with standard frames available in hardware or home decor stores. Personally, I use Leroy Merlin aluminum frames: simple, elegant, and affordable; they perfectly showcase the works. - ARTIST BIO: SKE is a self-taught, versatile French artist who grew up immersed in 80s/90s culture, inspiring many of his works. He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art. After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen noticeably. Winner of the Urban Master competition first prize (2023), then elected Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as “Artist of the Month” in October and also had a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition. His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE is also making a mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, increasing the appeal of his creations to collectors. Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and textural play characterize a style now essential. SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value. Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY The work of SKE sits in a prestigious lineage. One finds in his line the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they revisit classics, not hesitating to reinterpret Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to juxtapose them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws. POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages Disney’s universe with figures like Mickey Mouse or Pinocchio and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), through Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami. LUXE, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar sign sits beside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: you’ll encounter the sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also integrates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watches (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textures that recall the glossy finish of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski. This work is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to your interior. - Instagram artist SKE: ske_shakeyourart
