Toutes les enchères / Autres / Side table - Wood - Lightweight table
Decorative lightweight wooden side table – French Provincial / Louis XV style – hand-carved ornaments – whitewash patina Atmospheric and unusually decorative wooden side table, executed in an elegant French Provincial style with clear Louis XV influences. The combination of the square top, gracefully curved legs, and richly worked woodcarving gives this table a charming, rural French appearance. The piece is surprisingly light in weight, making it easily movable. Ideal as a side table next to an armchair or sofa, but also very suitable as a plant stand, lamp table, nightstand, or decorative table in a hallway. Beautifully carved decorations. The centerpiece is the carved ornament on the rails beneath the top. Here we see a stylized shell and flower motif with curling foliate ornaments. Such shell, rocaille, and floral motifs, combined with curved cabriole legs, are characteristic of furniture that references the French Louis XV and Provincial styles. Lovely whitewash / bleached appearance The wood has an attractive light natural to whitewash finish. The white accents remain especially visible in the grain, along the edges, and in the recessed carving. This makes the ornaments stand out even more and gives the table a lived-in, slightly weathered look. The top panel is built with a clearly framed center panel and softly shaped, gently wavy edges. The four outwardly curved legs complete the elegant silhouette. Versatile in use Thanks to the compact size and especially the light weight, this is a practical piece of furniture that can be moved easily. Beautiful as: - side table next to a sofa or armchair, plant stand, lamp table, bedside table, coffee table, or decorative accent table. In the photos with a wine bottle, glass and book, the practicality and size are clearly visible. The depicted accessories are, of course, not part of the lot. Condition In neat used condition with light signs of use and age; see photo for small damage consistent with a used wooden piece. The weathered/whitewash appearance is an intentional part of the decorative character. Please examine the photos carefully as they form an important part of the description.
