Toutes les enchères / Véhicules / Shmidt.Art - Jaguar - Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 1964 - 1960s
A premium automotive poster dedicated to the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 — the revolutionary British sports car widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and influential automobiles ever created. This artwork celebrates the 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 in an elegant light-blue finish, combining its dramatic long-bonnet proportions with detailed technical illustrations, mechanical studies and period-inspired graphic design. The portrait A1 poster presents the E-Type through a large three-quarter illustration, front, side and rear views, a detailed XK engine drawing, chassis diagrams and clearly arranged performance specifications. Sculpted by Air When the Jaguar E-Type was introduced, its design immediately attracted worldwide attention. With its long bonnet, low nose, curved roofline, covered headlights, flowing rear bodywork and delicate wire wheels, the E-Type looked like a racing prototype adapted for the road. Its shape remains one of the defining achievements of 1960s automotive design. The Original Fixed-Head Coupé The Series 1 fixed-head coupé represented the purest expression of the original E-Type concept. Its compact cabin sits behind an exceptionally long bonnet, creating a distinctive front-heavy silhouette that became instantly recognizable. The artwork captures this iconic profile in a restrained light-blue colour, complemented by chrome details and classic wire-spoke wheels. Jaguar XK Inline-Six At the heart of the Series 1 3.8 is Jaguar’s legendary 3.8-litre XK inline-six engine. Equipped with triple SU carburettors and twin overhead camshafts, the engine produced approximately 265 bhp and delivered the smooth, powerful character that made the E-Type so impressive in its era. A large technical illustration of the engine and gearbox forms one of the main visual elements in the lower part of the poster. Engineered for Speed The E-Type was not created purely as a styling exercise. Its engineering included independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a rear-mounted differential and a lightweight sports-car construction designed to provide high-speed stability and responsive handling. These components are presented in the technical drawings and transparent chassis illustrations included in the artwork. A British Automotive Icon The E-Type combined advanced mechanical engineering with exceptional visual elegance. Its low aerodynamic nose, central grille, slim bumpers, covered headlamps, sculpted front wings and flowing rear haunches created a design that was both dramatic and technically purposeful. The result was a British sports car with the presence of a grand tourer and the spirit of a competition machine. Detailed Illustrated Composition The artwork includes: Large three-quarter illustration of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 in light blue Detailed front, side and rear technical views Illustrated 3.8-litre Jaguar XK inline-six engine Technical engine-and-gearbox study Overhead chassis drawing showing the front-engine layout Transparent side illustration revealing the mechanical structure Independent suspension and four-wheel disc brake references Triple SU carburettor specification Wire-spoke wheels, covered headlights and fixed-head coupé profile Vintage technical typography and archival automotive presentation The warm ivory background, pale blue bodywork, graphite linework and restrained black-and-burgundy accents give the poster an elegant period character.
