Presentation of the Work Artist: Shepard Fairey (OBEY) Series: Box Set "50 Shades of Black" (Special 25th Anniversary Edition) Publication Year: 2014 Support: Screen print on cream Speckletone paper Technique: Hand-pulled screenprint Dimensions: 12 x 12 inches (approx. 30.5 x 30.5 cm) — "Vinyl Sleeve" format the proposed version is an AP Artist Proof This work originates from the iconic series produced to celebrate a quarter-century of graphic dissidence. The "50 Shades of Black" style is defined by a minimalist yet powerful palette: black, metallized gold, and cream. The aesthetic draws on the codes of Soviet propaganda, vintage advertising, and the punk movement. Unlike large-format posters, this 12x12 format pays homage to the major influence of music and DJ culture in Fairey’s work. Rarity of the Edition: These screen prints come from a box set limited to only 450 copies worldwide. Signature: Each work is hand-signed and dated by Shepard Fairey in pencil (usually at the bottom right). Preservation quality: Use of high-quality pigment-based inks and archival paper, ensuring exceptional longevity without yellowing. Display versatility: Its square "Cover Art" format provides a modern display, ideal for wall grids or minimalist framing.
