Seven Centuries of Craft

Two Empires. One Board. Endless Battles. Born in Esfahan, the city once called "half the world," this board is handmade by a master artisan. It is backgammon, chess, and a piece of art in one. Its surface is covered in khatam, the 700-year-old art of inlay. Thousands of tiny pieces of ebony, camel bone, brass, and exotic woods are cut and set by hand into patterns that shimmer as the light moves. Each board takes weeks to complete, and no two are alike. Open it for backgammon, a game played for over 5,000 years, on a smooth, balanced surface. Turn to chess, and the pieces are not ordinary. Ancient Rome faces ancient Middle East. Legionaries and kings, empires that clashed for centuries, are now locked in a battle of strategy on your table. Who will you command? Why owners love it Handmade by an Esfahan artisan, never mass-produced Authentic khatam inlay, a UNESCO-recognized craft Two classic games in one board Roman vs. Middle Eastern chess armies that make every game a story One of a kind, a collectible with real heritage A gift people remember, for a wedding, a milestone, a collector, or a history lover Empires rose and fell over this rivalry.
