Beautiful and highly collectible pair of original S.A.C.C.A.B. Milano seltzer siphons designed by Sergio Asti, one of the leading figures of post-war Italian design. Presented as a particularly attractive matching pair in two different original metallic finishes: emerald green and warm bronze/copper, creating a striking decorative combination. These sculptural soda siphons were designed by Sergio Asti for S.A.C.C.A.B. Milano during the 1950s and are now recognised examples of Italian Mid-Century industrial design. Contemporary auction and design references date the model between approximately 1952 and 1956. The design perfectly embodies the principles of post-war Italian industrial design: a functional everyday object transformed through elegant proportions, organic curves and sophisticated materials into a highly decorative object. Both siphons feature a shaped metal body with their original coloured finish, surmounted by the characteristic metal dispensing mechanism with its elegantly curved lever and lateral nozzle. The mechanisms, caps, levers and fittings are present, making this an especially appealing and coherent pair. Both examples are clearly manufacturer-marked on the underside: S.A.C.C.A.B. – MILANO – BREVETTATO together with individual production/model numbers, clearly visible in the photographs. The combination of the green and bronze/copper colourways is particularly decorative and makes the pair ideal not only for collectors of Sergio Asti and Italian design, but also as a statement display piece for a Mid-Century Modern interior, cocktail bar, restaurant or sophisticated contemporary setting. There are only minor surface scratches, small marks and traces of use consistent with their age, particularly visible under close inspection. These have deliberately not been polished or restored away and form part of the authentic original vintage patina. No major damage is apparent from the photographs. The dispensing mechanisms and fittings are present; considering the age of the objects, they are offered primarily as collectible vintage design objects and have not been pressure-tested for modern use. The numerous detailed photographs form an integral part of the description and accurately document their condition, markings and original components.
