Elegant Louis XV-style drop-front secrétaire, France, late 19th – early 20th century Charming Louis XV-style drop-front secrétaire, presenting an elegant curved silhouette and rich decoration in veneers of precious woods and marquetry. The façade as well as the sides are adorned with decorative motifs in wood of different species, enhanced by gilded bronze fittings. The piece is topped with an elegant veined marble top and rests on graceful curved legs equipped with bronze sabots. The drop-front opens to reveal an interior arranged with several small drawers and storage compartments, as well as a writing space lined in leather and decorated. The various decorative elements, the bronzes and the marquetry testify to the refined character of this antique-inspired piece. A particularly decorative item, ideal for adding a touch of elegance to a desk, a living room or a bedroom. Dimensions: 128 × 68 × 36 cm Condition: the furniture shows signs of age, cracks and various defects related to its antiquity.
