Seated Buddha in meditation – two-tone bronze – Thai...

For sale is this decorative bronze sculpture of a seated Buddha in traditional Thai style. The 25 cm high figure shows Buddha in a calm meditation pose with crossed legs and hands resting in the lap. This hand position is called the Dhyana Mudra and symbolizes meditation, inner peace, and mental concentration. Particularly striking is the contrasting two-tone design. The dark patinated body parts form a beautiful contrast to the glossy gold-colored areas of the robe, the legs, and the artistically crafted pedestal. The Buddha has a finely worked face with half-closed eyes, a gentle smile, and long earlobes. The numerous small curls of hair are highlighted in gold and crowned by a tall, flame-shaped tip. The figure sits on an elaborately designed lotus pedestal with several rows of stylized petals. On the front is a particularly richly decorated, hanging ornamental element with geometric and floral patterns. The backside is also carefully worked. The robe drapes over the shoulder and back, while the gold-colored areas emphasize the contours of the body. **Dimensions and Weight** - Height: approx. 25 cm - Width: approx. 18 cm - Depth: approx. 10 cm - Weight: approx. 1,261 g - Material: Bronze - Finish: Dark patina with gold-colored surface areas - Style: Traditional Thai Buddha representation **Condition** The statue comes from an inherited collection and is in used condition.
