Toutes les enchères / Ethnographie / Sea Snail Sea shell - S-612 LAMBIS LAMBIS (No reserve price)
Beautiful Lambis lambis shell - a species of tropical sea snails in the family Strombidae, distinguished by its fanciful shell shape, usually attractively colored. One of its most striking features is the expanded outer lip, adorned with six hollowed marginal fingers. These digits show subtle differences in shape between the sexes in this species, as the three most forward fingers are short and bent backward in males and longer and dorsally curved in females. The shell color is very variable; on the outside it is white or cream and often has brown, purple, or bluish-black spots. The interior is glassy and may be pink, orange, or purple. The shell color may actually differ slightly from the color in photos due to artificial lighting. Dimensions - 55/90/165 mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
