Sculpture, Testa di Atena - 38 cm - marble powder

Statue depicting the face of the Greco-Roman goddess Athena. Goddess of wisdom, the arts, and war. In this representation the deity wears the famous Kunée helmet, also called the Helmet of Darkness; it is a magical headpiece present in Greek mythology capable of making the wearer invisible. According to myth, the helmet was forged by the Cyclopes with dog skin (kúon) and given as a gift to Hades, together with the trident for Poseidon and the thunderbolt for Zeus, on the occasion of the war against the Titans. In mythology the Kunée is worn by Athena in the Iliad (the famous poem traditionally attributed to Homer). Professional academic sculpture, fully handmade by professional artisans. A piece from a museum plaster cast collection (gipsoteca museale). The craft has very ancient origins and is carried out entirely by hand by sculptors, made with materials such as scagliola and Carrara marble powder. The indicated dimensions are inclusive of the base, if present. Shipping is entrusted to a packaging company (professional packaging).
