Impressive and highly detailed bronze sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte, depicted in his characteristic military pose with bicorne, long coat, sabre and spyglass. The calm, self-assured pose with arms crossed gives the statue a monumental appearance. Particularly beautiful are the detailed rendering of the face, the clothing, boots, cloak folds and military accoutrements. The dark brown-bronze patina is subtly lighter on the raised areas, making the details stand out nicely. The statue stands on a heavy black marble plinth, which forms a beautiful contrast with the warm bronze. On the bronze base there are several interesting features, including: * a handwritten signature in bronze; * a round foundry/bronze mark; * a separately applied number A6806. These markings have been photographed extensively and make the sculpture even more interesting for collectors. A classic and decorative work of art that sits well in an interior, library, office, gallery or a collection of historical and military art.
