Scailmont - Vase - Transparent trumpet vase with rose ribbon

Transparent Kelk vase by Scailmont in Manage: the refined aesthetic of Belgian Art Deco, in clear colored glass. The tactile rose relief contrasts with the clean, architectural line of the ribbed cone and octagonal foot. The warm sepia tone captures the light, so the depth of the relief changes with every lighting angle. A quiet accent for a mantelpiece, sideboard, or bookcase. For this object a Buy Now price has also been set, for those who want to acquire it immediately without waiting. Description: A scalloped, flaring edge on a ribbed cone that leads to a short stem and an octagonal foot with radial ribs. Around the body runs a band with stylized roses and leaves, crisply pressed into the glass. That tactile, floral motif against the strict base gives the vase its tension. The glass is pressed, molded in the mold. About the maker: Verreries de Scailmont, founded in 1901 in Manage, produced decorative glass without crystal and in 1930 employed around 800 people. Henri Heemskerk was chief designer from 1924 to 1951; the factory also worked for Val Saint Lambert and Boch Frères. Later Scailmont became one of the longest-surviving pressed glass factories in Belgium. This vase belongs to that Art Deco repertoire. In interior design: An accent in a classical or eclectic interior, on a mantel, sideboard or bookcase. In a modern interior it adds historical texture and warmth. Condition: Good. Edge, rose-band, cone, and foot edge: no chips, flakes or cracks. Fine lines and small air bubbles in the glass are part of the pressing process. See the images. Offered as a decorative object.
