Sarouck - Carpet - 90 cm - 64 cm - Yörük Koerden

High knot density carpet, made by Kurdish Yörüks from Southeastern Turkey. Yörüks is a collective term for various nomadic tribes in Turkey, originally from Central Asia, Iran and the Caucasus. Very special about this rug is the color of the central field. The wool is entirely dyed with the precious saffron. This color cannot be captured in photographs. It gives the rug its silk luster and, depending on the light, continuously shifting colors from beige through yellow to warm, orange pastel tones.
